Link of the week: Energy Fiend

FEB 4, 2008

Did you know that a Stabucks Grande Coffee has 330mg of caffeine?  Or that Pepsi has more caffeine than Coca-Cola?  And what about a little Hershey’s Kiss?  Only 1 gram of caffeine there.

Run by 2 caffeine hobbyist (read addicts), Energy Fiend is a blog/website that contains information about the amount of caffeine that is in drinks and food. The drink and food databases are sortable and hundreds of items are listed.

Energy FiendThe website also has a “Death By Caffeine” calculator.  Ever wonder just how much of your favorite caffeinated beverage would kill you?  Just select your poison via the drop down menu, input your weight, and click on the “Kill Me” button. The results will tell you how much of that item must be in your body at the same time to end your life. I may be a Pepsi addict, but I don’t think I could drink 269.41 cans of Pepsi-Cola at one time…

  • That’s an interesting site! I have to have my coffee in the morning though. No matter how much caffeine it has. I tried to decaffeinate, but no luck. Only time I gave up caffeine was with my pregnancies.

  • Great post but I have to have my caffeine in the morning by means of coffee. During the day while at work I only drink water and lots of it. I gave up soft drinks a year ago and haven’t missed them one bit.
